Romania holds International Light Festival

Art Safari takes part in the Bucharest International Light Festival with images of Stefan Luchian paintings projected on Grand Hotel du Boulevard windows.

Romania’s sky has brightened up, thanks to an annual light festival accompanied with an earful of tunes.

Several landmark buildings in the capital Bucharest were clothed in light and color as some 200,000 residents and visitors celebrated the event known as Spotlight. As many as 20 installations, including projections and video-mapping projects, focused on the theme of re-imagining Romania’s urban landscape.

The exhibition is part of an international circuit which was founded in Berlin some 12 years ago. This year the Signal Festival in Prague and Berlin’s International Festival of light will be partners of Spotlight 2017. They will present light-based art works coming from Austria, Slovakia, Finland and Germany.
