French Muslims lean left in vote, but Islamophobia rampant

The first round of the French presidential election is scheduled this weekend, and it is essentially a dead heat between 4 main contenders. France’s Muslims, however, may abstain in record numbers due to their disappointment with the current Socialist government as well as France’s politics in general, which are often Islamophobic.
