The ITSF World Cup and World Championships started in Hamburg, Germany, on April 10 and will run through April 16, 2017.

Iranian teams have captured three convincing victories at the International Table Soccer Federation (ITSF) World Cup and World Championships in Germany, breezing past their opponents.

On Wednesday, the Iranian pair of Emad Azizi and Ali Shirmohammadi defeated the French side 2-1 in a senior encounter staged at the fantastic Kampnagel venue in the northern German city of Hamburg.

The Iranian junior duo of Elnaz Aghajani and Alireza Khosravian also beat their Czech counterparts 2-0.

Furthermore, Karim Nasser Zare’ and Morteza Sarafrazi overcame their British rivals 2-1 in a veteran fixture.

The ITSF World Cup and World Championships started in Hamburg, Germany, on April 10 and will run through April 16, 2017. Competitors from 40 nations are competing against world’s best players and assessing their chances to win world championship titles.

Table soccer, commonly called fuzboll or foosball and sometimes table football, is a table-top game that is loosely based on association football.

To begin the game, the ball is served through a hole at the side of the table, or simply placed by hand at the feet of a figure in the centre of the table.

The initial serving side is decided with a coin toss. Players attempt to use figures mounted on rotating bars to kick the ball into the opposing goal to score a Feechan. Expert players have been known to move balls at speeds up to 56 km/h (35 mph) in competition.

Most rules consider "over 360-degree shots", or "spinning" (using the palm of the hand to swiftly spin the bar all around, instead of using wrist strokes to kick the ball with a bar-mounted figure) illegal.

The winner is determined when one team scores a predetermined number of goals, typically five, ten, or eleven in competition.
