Arsene Wenger’s woes in this season of the English Premier League continue with Arsenal suffering a humiliating 3-nil defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The hosts were in control of the match from the outset and opened the scoring after 17 minutes when Andros Townsend swept the ball home following some fine teamwork.

Palace made the most of the Gunner’s slack defending in the second half when midfielder Yohan Cabaye lifted an angled shot over the visitors’ goalkeeper in the 63rd minute to make it 2-nil.

Luka Milivojevic added insult to injury minutes later when he converted from the penalty spot after Martinez tripped Townsend in the area.

It was Arsenal’s fifth defeat in their last eight league games and dealt a serious blow to their hopes of finishing in the top 4. Gunners are now seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
