NBA: Heat edge past Wizards 106-103

In the NBA, the visiting Miami Heat have registered 106-103 over the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center.

Washington started the match as the better side on Saturday and went ahead by a single point at the end of the first period. But Miami came back in the second frame and won the quarter 24-23 to tie the game at 52-52 at the intermission.

In the third period, Slovenian Goran Dragic drove in for a three-point play to make it 64-60 for the visitor’s midway through the quarter.

But the game got locked again at 102-102 in the fourth period and with only 11 seconds left James Johnson hit a layup to give Miami a 104-103 lead and from then on the Heat held on to edge Washington 106-103 in the nation's capital.
