The highly anticipated Madrid derby has seen Real and Atletico share the spoils, following a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The first half on Saturday was energetic with plenty of chances at both ends as the teams played with full strength, looking to take the lead as earliest as they could.

However, no goals were exchanged during the first 45 minutes. It was the hosts Real who finally managed to break the deadlock in the 52nd minute through Pepe’s header.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates appeared to be heading for a home victory until Atletico’s super striker Antoine Griezmann rounded Keylor Navas to slot home at the near post with just five minutes remaining to make it 1-1 and earn Atletico a valuable point.
