Trump said attacking Syria was bad idea 45 times on Twitter

Using Twitter, Donald Trump had consistently, in the past, spoken out against US forces staging an attack against the Syrian armed forces fighting Daesh.

US President Donald Trump has demonstrated inconsistency in his words and actions by ordering a deadly strike on a Syrian airbase in Idlib province.

Trump had consistently, in the past, spoken out against US forces staging an attack against the Syrian armed forces fighting Daesh, saying on social media that such a move would make a bad situation worse.

However, on Friday, Trump illegally ordered US warships in nearby Mediterranean waters to launch a missile strike against al-Shayrat airbase in Syria’s Homs province, which Washington alleged was the base from where a chemical attack in Idlib was launched on Tuesday.

The Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad is in conflict with Takfiri forces, including Daesh.

Washington, and its regional allies, favor the ouster of the Russian-backed Assad.

However, Trump had said during his campaign that a US attack on Syrian forces would be detrimental, claiming it could make a bad problem worse.

“We should not be focusing on Syria. You're going to end up in World War III over Syria if we take out al-Assad's airfields,” he tweeted in October.

Trump said, instead, US forces should concentrate on eradicating Daesh militants, who are active not only in Syria, but also in Iraq, and elsewhere across the region.

“You know Russia wants to get ISIS [another name for Daesh] right. We want to get ISIS. Russia's in Syria… Let them do it,” he suggested in other tweets.

Trump had described US politicians calling for an attack on Syrian government forces as crazy people.

"They want to start World War III over Syria. Give me a break…What the hell are we, crazy?"he tweeted.
