NHL: Lightning beat Red Wings 5-3

The Tampa Bay Lightning have defeated the visiting Detroit Red Wings 5-3 in the NHL.

Frans Nielsen opened up the scoring for the Detroit Red Wings after four minutes. But, J.T. Brown leveled the match at 1-1 with one minute remaining in the opening period.

Andrej Sustr, Alex Killorn and Jonathan Drouin all scored for the hosts in the second frame before Danny DeKeyser cut the Red wings’ deficit to 4-2 in the same period.

Yanni Gourde then scored the 5th goal early in the third frame for Tampa before Detroit’s Mike Green scored the third and the last for his side minutes later as the Lightning went on to win the home game 5-3.
