The largest pink diamond in the world is expected to be sold for more than 60 million dollars next week in Hong Kong.

Sotheby's auction house says the 59.60-carat diamond 'Pink Star' diamond is the largest flawless vivid pink diamond ever graded by the Geological Institute of America (GIA).

Experts also say the gem is the most valuable polished diamond ever offered at auction. Until now, the record for the most luxurious diamond ever auctioned is held by the 14.6 carat blue diamond sold last year for about 57 million dollars. Collectors say the gem's size and color exceed any known pink diamond recorded in history. It was mined in Africa back in 1999.
