Croatia among world's best olive oil producers
Olive oil from the Croatian peninsula of Istria, in the northern Adriatic, has won several top positions among the world's best extra virgin olive oils.
This year's edition of the world guide for extra virgin olive oil has included 60 olive growers and olive oil makers from Istria, which has been named the world's best quality olive growing region for the second year.
The Istrian growers are among the world's 500 best olive growers, with a share of 12 percent in the global community of olive oil makers.
The Peninsula’s residents say it is a centuries old tradition that is finally getting world recognition.
