Sweden has climbed temporarily to the top of group A in the UEFA World Cup qualifying, following an emphatic 4-nil romp over visiting team Belarus.
Emil Forsberg headed the hosts in front from the penalty spot on 19 minutes, before adding his second of the night just after restart when he fumbled the ball through the legs of goalkeeper Andrey Gorbunov.
Marcus Berg extended Sweden’s advantage 12 minute later with a neat header, and substitute Isaac Telin stroked home the fourth and final goal to complete the rout 12 minutes from time. The thrashing means Belarus remain second from bottom in the group on just 2 points.
