Iranians flock to Karbala to celebrate Nowruz

Thousands of Iranians have chosen the city of Karbala in Iraq to celebrate Nowruz.

As Nowruz festivities continue all over the world, tens of thousands of Iranians have chosen the Holy city of Karbala in Iraq to celebrate the Persian New Year. Karbala is home to the shrines of Imam Hussein, the third Shia Imam and his brother Abul Fazl al-Abbas. Iranians spent the early hours of the New Year at these holy places to pray for peace and prosperity. Press TV’s Altaf Ahmad reports.
