SpaceX capsule returns to Earth from International Space Station

Docking of the SpaceX Dragon aboard the International Space Station.

A SpaceX capsule has returned to Earth with a full load of science samples from the International Space Station.

The Dragon cargo ship parachuted and splashed down into the Pacific Ocean after a 5 hour and a half voyage.

The Dragon was launched into space a month ago to take up more than 2200 kilograms’ worth of supplies to the Space Station.

She’s now brought back just as much in completed experiments and used equipment. With the Dragon back, NASA’s other supplier, Orbital ATK, is preparing to launch its own cargo ship on Friday. The new capsule however will burn upon re-entering the Earth’s atmosphere.
