Catalonia's fmr. leader suspended from holding public office for 2 years

Catalonia's former regional leader has been suspended from holding public office for a period of two years by the region's Superior Court of Justice. Artur Mas, along with two of his aides, was found guilty of criminal disobedience for holding a symbolic referendum on independence in November 2014. Mas announced that he will appeal the verdict to the Spanish Constitutional Court and to the European court in Strasbourg.
