Chelsea have edged past 10-man Manchester United 1-0 to reach the FA Cup semifinals.

It was a fiery encounter at Stamford Bridge on Monday night with Manchester United's Ander Herrera being dismissed after 35 minutes for a second yellow card.

Moments later Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, who was angry at United’s aggressive approach, confronted the Red Devils’ manager Jose Mourinho on the touchline. The two had to be separated by the 4th official.

Following a scoreless first half, it was N’Golo Kante who made all the difference when he unleashed a superb strike from 20 yards that beat goalkeeper David de Gea.

The goal was enough to secure Chelsea’s progress and eliminate the holders. The Blues will face Tottenham in the semis while Arsenal will play Manchester City in the other semifinal tie.
