NHL: Flames thrash Canadiens 5-0

The Calgary Flames have thrashed the Montreal Canadiens 5-0 in the NHL.

The Flames geared up well and Mark Giordano scored the first goal for the Flames 7 minutes into first period.

Michael Stone, Sean Monahan, and Micheal Ferland also scored for the hosts in the second period. Finally, Johnny Gaudreau capped off the night for the Flames with his goal in the third period.

Calgary will next play in Winnipeg to meet the Jets on Saturday and the Montreal Canadiens will travel to Edmonton to play the Oilers on Sunday.
