Female fencing team in Afghanistan have called on their government to help them overcome the prejudice against their sports activities.
During a session at Kabul’s national sports stadium, female Afghan fencers showcased their skills and addressed the challenges they face to hold their classes.
The public opinion has shifted a lot since the Taliban were toppled more than 15 years ago, but people’s negative attitude still remained the main concern as expressed by the girls.
The sportswomen also mentioned the need for better facilities to help them get more advanced trainings. Despite the obstacles, the girls still hope to win international awards for their country
