Scuba divers in Russia have gone on an underwater expedition to the submerged 17th century mansion located at the bottom of a reservoir in Yaroslavl region.
Footage shows the team exploring the ruins of the mansion as well as other architectural remains in a bid to develop a 3D-model of the structures.
The expedition began in late February and will continue until this autumn. The mansion completely disappeared underwater in April 1941.
The reservoir, located on the Volga River, was reportedly the largest man-made body of water on Earth at the time. It was formed after the construction of the region’s Hydroelectric Station dam.
