NHL: New York Rangers 2-1 Boston Bruins

In the National Hockey League, the New York Rangers edged past the Boston Bruins 2-1 at TD Garden in Boston.

Both teams missed several chances during the first and second periods. But the scoreless draw was finally broken five minutes into the third period.

Russian Pavel Buchnevich opened up the score sheet for the visitors in the final period. Four minutes later, Oscar Lindberg put the Rangers up 2-0.

Brad Marchand scored for the hosts as Boston, cut their deficit to 2-1. New York has beaten Boston three times in the season series.
