As for the latest buzz in studying insects, scientists have found that bumblebees have an impressive brain power; making them quite the soccer player.
Scientists at London’s Queen Mary University have published a paper focusing on how bees navigate and search for food.
They suggest that bumblebees can learn entirely new behaviors under ecological pressure. To conclude this, the researchers have released footage of the insects rolling balls and scoring goals in a simulated arena.
The study adds that the honey-makers are also able to solve other cognitive tasks and teach each other how to do so. Such learning abilities weren’t previously known to exist among small-brained beings.
