Australia hosts classic beach motorcycle race

Murray Williams and Carol Tune practice for the return of motorcycle racing to Sellicks Beach.

After 6 decades, beach goers in southern Australia have exchanged their surfboards with bikes as they take part in a coast-side motorcycle racing.

Competitors for the classic competition come from every state and territory, all with bikes made before 1963.

Classic motorbike enthusiasts young and old pack Sellicks Beach for the historic races being staged officially for 1st time since 1953.

With 50 events over 2 days, spectators are treated to some spectacular racing.

Participants complete 800-meter laps, including a difficult turn at the end of each.

Organizers are thrilled with the turnout. They plan to hold the next round of the race in 2019.
