Sevilla of Spain have defeated English Premier League champions Leicester City 2-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round-of-16 clash.
On Wednesday, the Spanish hosts started badly after Argentine midfielder Carlos Correa missed a penalty kick. But, Pablo Sarabia put them ahead in the 25th minute to give his side a 1-0 lead at halftime. Correa did make up for his mistake and made it 2-0 in the 62nd minute.
Jamie Vardy then pulled one back for the visitors 11 minutes later in one of the few chances Leicester City created in the match.
An aggregate win for the Spanish outfit on the 14th of March will take them to the European competitions’ quarterfinals for the first time in nearly 60 years.
