English Premier League: Arsenal bat Hull City 2-0

Arsenal have defeated relegation-threatened Hull City 2-nil thanks to a double from Alexis Sanchez in a match overshadowed by contentious decisions made by the referees.

Arsenal pressed for an opener in the early stages of the match before Sanchez put his side in front via a controversial intervention after 34 minutes as the ball came off his hand and ended up in the net with the officials failing to spot the apparent handball.

Hull City’s Sam Clucas was sent off for handball in front of goal in stoppage time following a Lucas Perez header. Sanchez took the resulting penalty kick and sealed the victory at the Emirates Stadium. It was the first league win for Arsene Wenger’s men in 3 games.
