Indian artist builds world's tallest sandcastle

Famous sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik accepting the certificate for holding the Guinness record with world’s tallest sand castle.

A sandcastle in India has secured a Guinness World Record for the world’s tallest.

The castle which is 14.48 meters tall, has been made by an artist along with 45 students during a 9 day period.

The previous record was held by American artist Ted Siebert, who had built a 13.97 meter high sandcastle at Miami beach in 2015.

The winning castle was designed around the theme of World Peace and featured sand carvings of icons, such as Mahatma Gandhi, Gautama Buddha, and Nelson Mandela.

The world's tallest castle is in the Indian state of Odisha near Puri beach.
