The Olympic torch for the 2018 Winter Games was officially unveiled at the Gangneung Hockey Center in South Korea on Thursday.
The Torch is 70 centimeters tall, representing the altitude of the host city Pyeongchang, which sits 700 meters above sea level. And the white and gold tones, which are the main colors of the 2018 torch relay, represent the Winter Olympics.
The torch-bearer’s uniform was also unveiled at the countdown ceremony, with the design combining the colors of the white Olympic torch, and the blue, yellow, black, green and red from the Olympic rings.
The event organizers have released a footage showing the sites and venues of next year's Winter Olympic Games.
Nearly 7,000 athletes, coaches and sports officials from about 95 countries are expected to attend the games, which are due to run from February 9th to February 25th, 2018.
