A group of emperor and crested penguins has made their debut on a snow field in the Chinese city of Dalian.

The event is part of a program organized by the ‘Polar Museum’ to celebrate the Year of the Rooster. The museum has showed the two kinds of penguins to indicate good fortune.

Ancient China considered emperor penguin as the incarnation of dragon. Meanwhile, the crested penguins are recognized as "Phoenix-head penguins" in China. Locals believe the combination of the dragon and the phoenix is a symbol of good fortune.
