A Haitian equestrian center has brought hope to young earthquake survivors with therapeutic horse rides.
The Port-au-Prince equestrian center is improving disabled children’s coordination and confidence with horse riding sessions.
Youngsters, who suffered physical harm during Haiti’s quake in 2011, are among a few dozen people currently receiving riding lessons at the center.
The exercises provide the young riders with the muscle and nerve stimulation similar to a physiotherapy session. Learners also get to pet, feed, and groom their elegant companions and form an everlasting bond with them, promising psychological advantages that traditional therapy may lack.
