Zoo in Sydney keeps animals cool during heatwave

A heatwave has swept parts of Australia. A zoo in Sydney has offered icy treats to its animals to help them beat the heat.

At ‘Taronga Zoo’ frozen treats were given to Gorillas and a Sun Bear, originally from South East Asia, to help them chill out.

Keepers have prepared large ice pieces filled with the animals’ favorite foods just in time for the heatwave. The blocks are keeping them cool and fed throughout the hot day.

Some animals also enjoy playing under a sprinkler. Temperatures have reached over 40 degrees Celsius in some Australian cities.
