In the Spanish Copa Del Rey, Atletico Madrid have edged through to the quarterfinals with a 4-3 aggregate win after two late goals gave Las Palmas a 3-2 second-leg win.

Despite a scoreless first half, the second period turned out to be action-packed. Flawless team work by the home side led to the opening goal scored by Antoine Griezmann.

Eight minutes was enough for the visitors to equalize through a magnificent solo effort from Marko Livaja. Atletico were quick to regain the lead. Within just two minutes, Angel Correa nut-megged the keeper to make it 2-1. Livaja then tied the game at 2-all by scoring his second of the night in the 89th minute.

And a late strike by Mateo Garcia gave Las Palmas the 3-2 win, but it was all in vain, as they failed to qualify for the quarterfinals.
