Manchester United have one foot in the League Cup final after earning an expected win over Hull City thanks to second half goals from Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini.

After being held to a scoreless tie by a diligent Hull City in the first half, the Red Devils opened the scoring in the 56th minute through Juan Mata.

Jose Mourinho's men who were looking to finish the tie in Old Trafford kept their attacking form until the end as substitute Fellaini then scored a second late goal three minutes from time, heading in from Matteo Darmian's cross to put United in command heading into the second leg on the 26th of January.
