Earley Easter plastic eggs wash ashore on Germany's Langeoog Island

Easter comes early to German Island as thousands of kinder eggs wash onshore.

Residents of the German island of ‘Langeoog’ have got an unusual surprise! Easter has come early for them.

After a fierce storm, hundreds of thousands of plastic toy eggs washed up on shore. Visitors, especially children, were quick to collect the multicolored eggs, which were without their usual chocolate coating.

The eggs contain instructions in the Cyrillic alphabet. They appear to have come from a freighter that lost part of its cargo during an intense storm.

Officials have called in a local nursery to help collect the unusual discovery before it becomes a threat to wildlife.
