German company introduces app that identifies diseases in plants
A startup company in Germany has introduced an application that can recognize diseases and pests in plants from photos.
The app can detect over 60 diseases, plus malnutrition and a variety of pests. It analyzes photos and shows the result.
The app also saves the data on the servers at the German company’s office in Hannover. The app is already available in Germany and Austria and is now being tested in India and Brazil.
The application can show where certain diseases or pests are widespread, and even predict where it will spread. The app helps farmers take decisions on their disease management and reduce crop shortfalls.
