Iranian kickboxing squads crowned Asian champions

The first edition of the Asian Kenko Kempo Games started in New Delhi, India, on December 11 and will wrap up on December 15, 2016.

The national Iranian male and female kickboxing teams of the Amateur Federation of Workers’ Sport of the Islamic Republic of Iran have delivered fine performances at the first edition of Kenko Kempo Games in India, and won the title.

On Wednesday, the final day of the competitions in the Indian capital city of New Delhi, the Iranian men’s kickboxing outfit stood atop the podium, having collected one bronze, one silver and four gold medals. Representatives from the host nation and Uzbekistan stood in the second and third places respectively.

The Iranian women’s squad also clinched seven gold, two silver and three bronze medals and landed in the top spot. The Indian team finished as the vice champion, and Uzbeks were the third-placed finishers.

The first edition of the Asian Kenko Kempo Games started in New Delhi, India, on December 11 and will wrap up on December 15.

The sports event attracted dozens of martial artists from various Asian countries, including Bhutan, India, Iraq, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Lebanon, Nepal, Pakistan and Vietnam.
