US President Barack Obama’s call for an investigation into the role Russia allegedly played in bringing GOP nominee Donald Trump into power is “nothing more than transparent and very blatant, political fraud,” an analyst says.
In the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton as well as the Democratic National Committee (DNC) kept blaming Russia over support for the New York billionaire as part of efforts aimed at “setting the stage for this,” Mark Dankof, who is also a broadcaster and pastor in San Antonio, Texas, told Press TV in a phone interview conducted on Saturday.
Ahead of the 2016 vote, transparency organization WikiLeaks released hacked information on the DNC and the Clinton campaign that undermined the Democrats’ efforts, aimed at maintaining control of the White house.
Late on Friday, the Post quoted intelligence officials as saying that they have identified “individuals with connections to the Russian government who provided WikiLeaks with thousands of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and others, including Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman.”
Obama ordered intelligence officials to perform a “full review” of election-related hacking after the Post report.
According to deputy White House press secretary Eric Schultz, the probe would be focused on “malicious cyber-activity timed to election cycles” all the way back to 2008.
“It is the assessment of the intelligence community that Russia’s goal here was to favor one candidate over the other, to help Trump get elected,” said a senior US official. “That’s the consensus view.”
According to Dankof, “The Washington Post is involved in a journalistic fraud.”
“The Washington Post, like CNN, was fighting to get Hillary Clinton elected all the time and Barack Obama, as the president of the United States, is now involved in a blatant political fraud,” noted the former US senate candidate. “Mr. Obama has no similar taste for investigating the clear criminality of Hillary Clinton.”
The president has also refused to launch an investigation into deeds of FBI Director James Comey, who got engaged in a “conflict of interests” with the Clinton campaign ahead of the November 8 election.
“It is obvious that the United States neoconservatives, who were fighting overtime to get Hillary Clinton elected, the Zionist element in American foreign policy that overwhelmingly favored Clinton’s election this time, has been working a in a variety of avenues to discredit Trump.”
Apart from that, Dankof questioned the credibility of the Post report, which cited an organization that has “never been heard of before.”
