Archaeologists in the Russian capital Moscow have discovered 196 lead seals that date back to 1812, the year in which Napoleon invaded Russia.
The side of each seal depicts the coat of arms of the Russian empire on one side, and different icons and abbreviated lettering on the other.
Archaeologists say the seals have been used to mark goods or documents, and to acknowledge that duty was paid on customs.
The interesting thing is that they were collected in a small pouch. Once the research is completed, the seals will be delivered to the Moscow State Museum.
