Iranian girls win gold at world junior Taekwondo Championship

Iranian girls have clinched the title at the 11th edition of the World Junior Taekwondo Championship held in Burnaby, Canada.

Iran secured two gold medals through Zahra Pouresmaeil and Mobina Nejad in the 68 and under-42 kg weight categories respectively while Mobina Babalou and Parisa Javadi seized two bronze medals to help Iran finish first with a total of 55 points.

Chinese Taipei followed in second with one gold and three silver medals while Russia rounded off the podium bagging three silver and two bronze medals.

Meanwhile, Iranian boys finished in 4th at the 5-day competition behind South Korea, Russia and Turkey after winning one gold and one silver.
