US, UK, Saudi Arabia supporting Israeli expansion: Scholar
The United States, Britain and Saudi Arabia are supporting the expansion of the “monstrous canker” that is Israel, even allowing the Tel Aviv regime to openly subject Western citizens to discrimination, says a British scholar and political analyst.
Dr. Rodney Shakespeare, a London-based university professor, made the comments in regard to Israel’s banning of more than 100 pro-Palestinian British activists from the occupied Palestinian territories.
Tobias Ellwood, the British minister for the Middle East, confirmed reports by the Israeli regime that of the 129,000 British citizens traveling to the occupied Palestinian territories, at least 115 have been deported, The Independent reported Sunday.
“[Israel] is a monstrous canker planted in the Middle East by Western governments which are controlled by Zionism,” Shakespeare told Press TV on Sunday. “Israel is an expanding racist of entity.”
The academic argued that since Israel controls the West’s foreign policy, independent nations in the Middle East are being “smashed up,” so that the Israeli expansion hits no hurdles.
“Now, if any individual dares to stand up and point to any aspects of that situation, for example the activities of Israel in respect of Syria and its support for Daesh (ISIL), that individual gets immediately targeted,” Shakespeare explained.
In August, Israel’s public security minister Gilad Erdan called for a ban on “Boycott activists,” referring to the supporters of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Thousands of volunteers worldwide have joined the BDS ever since it was initiated in 2005.
Shakespeare noted that he himself was prevented from speaking at a university, because “I wrote of the part that Israel plays behind Daesh in Syria.”
He said Israeli officials would never shy away from “attacking” the people who expose “the evil of Israel,” and its crimes against Palestinians.
“So, not surprisingly perhaps, the Israeli entity stops ordinary people from traveling or even from speaking… they latch onto anybody, who they can kick out of their job by putting out lustrous lies around them,” Shakespeare added.
“There you have it, the lying machine, the propaganda machine, the agents of this monstrous canker are the Zionists who are aided and abetted by the political and the economic structure in the USA, the UK and of course in places like Saudi Arabia,” he continued.
