Company transforms shipping containers to houses
A company in Denmark has introduced a low-cost and environmentally-friendly solution for housing shortages.
The firm offers floating re-purposed shipping containers. It has transformed old shipping containers into a floating dorm on the Copenhagen harbor.
Engineers say the complex is suitable for students. It consists of nine shipping containers, stacked in two levels on a concrete pontoon.
The Danish company has used ecological technologies such as solar panels to generate energy. It says the cost of one room would be about 600 dollars per month, which is reasonable in Denmark.
