Israel has US presidential election firmly in its grasp and controls the electoral process right from the grassroots all the way out to the presidency, an analyst says.

“The two [US] presidential candidates are bidding on who can give Israel the most because they are convinced with considerable reason that Israel is the kingmaker in the US election,” Paul Larudee, a former US government advisor, told Press TV.

“There is always competition between the presidential candidates on who can give Israel more money, more weapons, more privilege, more diplomatic support, all of these things. So this is merely a bidders’ war,” he added.

The analyst went on to say Israel is “vital” to the interests of anyone who wants to become US President or even a member of Congress.

However, he stated, this is not the same as being vital to the interests of the United States unless you make Israel the most important beneficiary of US taxpayers.

This comes as US Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump met Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in New York on Sunday.

Clinton has told Netanyahu that she opposes a UN-brokered solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, pledging to fight efforts to “delegitimize” the Tel Aviv regime.

Trump has promised Netanyahu that he will "recognize Jerusalem as the undivided capital of the state of Israel" if he emerges victorious in the US 2016 presidential election.

According to the analyst, the US presidential candidates will promise whatever Israel wants them to do, adding “that is the price of getting elected.”

Washington has been providing the Israeli regime with $3.1 billion annually since 2007, under a 10-year agreement with the administration of former president George W. Bush. The figure was recently raised to $3.8 billion for the next decade.

Like Clinton, Trump has backed America’s military support for Israel, hailing it as an “excellent investment for America.”
