UK prison violence at ‘wholly unacceptable level’

An official inquiry into UK prisons has found that the level of violence especially with the use of weapons has become wholly unacceptable. A report by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman found that assaults using a blade or another weapon has soared to 4000 in 2015 and 2016.
