It’s hard to understand how magnificent castles were built centuries ago. A team of master builders and archaeologists in France have set out to understand just that by constructing their own masterpiece using the most basic tools and materials.
Workers are using stone, clay, wood, fire and a lot of sweat to construct a castle from scratch made with the same techniques used in the 13th century.
The "Guedelon" castle is tucked away in a forest and has been under construction for the past 19 years. It's meant to be completed in 2020s.
Those behind the project hope to answer questions about medieval construction and provide lessons for the modern world on sustainable building.
