Democratic Party should address Clinton health concerns: Analyst
The US Democratic Party should address serious concerns about the well-being of its presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, says a political analyst in Orlando.
Former intelligence linguist Scott Rickard made the comment on Sunday, when Clinton had to leave a 9/11 ceremony due to what was dubbed in the media as a “medical episode.”
The former first lady’s entourage helped her to a van after she fainted during the ceremony at New York's National September 11 Memorial & Museum, Fox News reported, citing a law enforcement source.
The nominee’s campaign, however, downplayed the reports and said Clinton only left because “she felt overheated.”
“Hillary Clinton’s health is clearly an issue with the election in 2016,” Rickard told Press TV on Sunday.
“Since January of this year, and we are talking now going on 9 months, Hillary Clinton has had a chronic cough that her campaign team continues to is some sort of a seasonal allergy,” he added. “Obviously it is not a seasonal allergy.”
According to the report, Clinton stumbled off the curb while her "knees buckled" and lost a shoe as she entered the van.
Rickard said the fact that Clinton needed help to get in her van supported his theory about the former secretary of state’s well-being.
Clinton’s medical history, Rickard argued, meant the she was unfit to become the next US president.
“No other candidate in the history of the United States that I have seen has been so unhealthy during the campaign,” the analyst said, hoping that the Democratic Party would drop Clinton as its candidate.
Clinton, 68, has addressed the issue during a recent appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel”, saying the allegations were part of a “wacky strategy” by the GOP to gain more votes.
She also took a jab at Republican nominee Donald Trump by calling the 70-year-old “as healthy as a horse.”
