New rescue drone saves drowning swimmers

A new rescue drone designed to save drowning bathers in less than a minute was given a test-run in Spain.

Spain has successfully tested a unique drone which is designed to save drowning bathers.

The inventor of the drone is a police officer. He says the unmanned plane can cover two kilometers of the beach, which is the equivalent of two to three boats or five to six rescuers.

Apart from rescuing drowning bathers, the drone can be of great help in controlling marine animals and preventing water pollution.

It is equipped with a video camera, which allows rescuers to monitor an emergency situation real-time.

The drone is able to reach a drowning bather in less than a minute, compared to a rescuer who usually takes up to three minutes.
