World’s largest sandcastle fails to get into Guinness Book

The world’s largest sandcastle has failed to get itself recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records due to construction rules.

A group of German sand artists led by Benno Linde spent weeks to turn tonnes of sand into a giant sandcastle set in a park in the German city of Duisburg. The structure managed to attract visitors who flocked in large numbers to watch it while little ones made smaller constructions of their own.

Even though the team is really happy with their work, they find it regrettable that the sandcastle wasn’t enlisted in the Guinness Book due to technical issues.

Despite the final vote, the sandcastle did set a measurement record with a height of 14.15 meters, which is slightly higher than the previous structure with a 13.97 meter height. While the earlier sandcastle’s name still stands strong in the famous book, visitors have more than a week to marvel at the world’s largest sandcastle which is standing tall.
