Derrick Ryan Dearman carries out a massacre, killing five adults and an unborn baby before surrendering himself to the police.
Capt. Paul Burch of the Mobile County Sheriff's Department spoke to reporters about the "horrific scene" officers found at home
Dearman carried out the horrific attack in Citronelle, Alabama where he entered the home his girlfriend, Laneta Lester, fled to after leaving him and killed everyone inside except Lester and a 3-month-old baby (of one of the murder victims).
"Several weapons were discovered at the scene and may have been used as murder weapons," according to a police statement.
He then abducted them and drove them across to the neighboring state, Mississippi, to his father’s house where he freed them. Dearman and his father then went to Greene County Sheriff's Office in Mississippi where Dearman handed himself in.
Police said one of the victims, Chelsea Marie Reed, was five months pregnant.
