The world record for a transfer fee has been broken as English Premier League side Manchester United have completed the signing of midfielder Paul Pogba from Juventus.

Pogba now returns to Old Trafford on a five-year contract for a record fee of 105 million euros which will potentially increase through several add-ons.

The sum, equivalent to 89 million pounds, surpasses the 85 million pounds that Real Madrid paid for Wales striker Gareth Bale in 2013.

Pogba left United for Juventus back in 2012 for a token fee and went on to win four Serie A and two Coppa Italia titles with the club.

The 23-year-old is manager Jose Mourinho’s 4th signing of the summer, following Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly.
