Theresa May officially appointed as new British PM

Here is a round-up of global news developments:

Theresa May has been officially appointed as new British prime minister. Former London mayor Boris Johnson is named foreign minister. Remain campaigners Philip Hammond and Amber Rudd are picked as finance and interior ministers respectively. May has also assigned former Europe minister David Davis the position of secretary of state for leaving the European Union.
China has strongly urged United States and South Korea to stop the process of deploying the U-S missile system in the Korean Peninsula. Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said the measure undermines security interests of the countries in the region and runs counter to maintaining peace.
The United Nations says the number of deaths from violence in South Sudan is much higher than the announced 272. According to the UN peace-keeping mission, many civilians have been barred from fleeing to safe zones. Clashes between forces loyal to the president and vice president continue for three days.
ISIL has confirmed the death of one of its top commanders, Omar al-Shishani. Media associated with the terror group said he was killed in the town of Sharqat near Mosul. Shishani has been described by Pentagon as ISIL’s minister of war. He was a close advisor to ISIL leader Ibrahim al-Samarrai.
The Turkish Prime Minister says the country needs to boost relations with its neighbors Iraq and Syria. Bin Ali Yildirim stressed that counter-terrorism efforts will be successful only if Iraq and Syria become stable. Turkey has been hostile to Syrian President Bashar Assad for the past five years.
A new poll shows that US Republican candidate Donald Trump is leading Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in two key states. According to the Quinni-piac Poll, Trump has the lead in Florida and Pennsylvania. The results are released a week after the F-B-I recommended no indictment against Clinton over email leaks.
Leader of Spain’s Socialist Party Pedro Sanchez says the Ciu-da-danos will NOT vote in favor of acting Prime Minister Maraiano Rahoy. Rahoy says he will try to form a new government if the king asks him to do so. Spain has been locked in a political feud since seven months ago.
