Press TV has conducted an interview with Ibrahim Moussawi, a political commentator from Beirut, about Saudi Arabia's support for the anti-Iran terrorist group of Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO).

The following is a rough transcription of the interview.

Press TV: Never mind the fact that you have Turki al-Faisal stoop to this level to lash out against Iran by supporting this terrorist organization, which is another example of them supporting terrorist groups. But do you think that this is now the official line of Saudi Arabia because at that rally Turki al-Faisal said: “I support you in downing the Iranian government,... I also want the Iranian government to fall.” Do you think that is now the official line of the Saudi Arabia when it comes to Iran?

Moussawi: Unfortunately yes, if you follow the line of the Saudi politics and you see what they’re doing in every place, in every occasion, and in the most important causes and cases that Iran supports, you will see Saudi Arabia has adopted a position, which is completely hostile to the Iranian goals, to the Iranian sublime causes.

Take for example Palestine, the resistance in Lebanon, and what’s happening in Yemen. I mean, in which capacity was Turki al-Faisal talking there? I mean if he supports them as a person, as a single-handed person, it means Saudi Arabia supports them, because he represents bottom-line in the Saudi politics. He is a member of the Saudi royal family and of course he should represent and he should be speaking for the official line.

The official line of the Saudi politics and how they are dealing with the Iranians come while the Iranian government has always been extending a hand of support, a hand of welcome for any reconciliation, for any cooperation vis-à-vis the different causes. Iran has voiced out very clearly and openly that they want to cooperate with the Saudi government, and this will bring a lot of goodness for the causes of the region for the Arab and the Islamic world.

The Saudis have adopted a completely antagonistic hostile position. I believe what Turki al-Faisal has said in France is completely and in complete compliance with the Saudi politics, because this is what’s being done for the time-being now in Saudi Arabia vis-à-vis the different causes and the different issues that Iran deals with.

Press TV: Is that reflecting, do you think, the fact that Saudi Arabia has not been really successful in their endeavors in the Middle East from Iraq to the war in Yemen to the war in Syria, they have not achieved their goals? Therefore, they’re trying to reach out and one of the ways of doing that is going to supporting a terrorist group by the name of them MKO that has killed thousands of Iranians?

Moussawi: Well, the Saudis have become a specialty in supporting the terrorist groups starting by al-Qaeda now you have Daesh, you have al-Nusra Front, you have the different extremist groups that call themselves Islamic groups. They support them. They have also been launching an aggression against Yemen. They have done the same thing in Iraq and they are doing the same thing in Syria.

Now they are looking for the MKO in order to support them against Iran. I believe that the Saudis have aligned themselves with the American line of politics for a ling time and they are losers as much as the Americans are losing, maybe they have this only way in order to take revenge. They think that this is a good way to take revenge from Iran.
