Chinese company unveils world's first model of Transit Explore Bus
A Chinese company has unveiled the world's first model of the Transit Explore Bus, or TEB.
The bus would see passengers ride above the traffic below, with stops placed along the road in a similar system to the underground.
Vehicles that are less than two meters high will be able to drive freely underneath the bus. The bus is capable of transporting up to 14 hundred passengers.
One TEB could replace 40 conventional buses. The bus would be run on electricity, thus cutting fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Plans for the straddling bus were showcased earlier at a technology expo in Beijing.
