- The leader of Lebanon’s resistance movement Hezbollah says the group will continue fighting against terrorists in Syria's northern province of Aleppo. Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah added that the battle to defend Aleppo is a fight for the defense of the whole country. He said over 600 terrorists have been killed in Aleppo in June.
- Israeli forces have shot and killed a Palestinian woman over an alleged hit and run incident in the occupied West Bank. The Israeli military says the soldiers opened fire after the woman rammed her car into the entrance of Kiryat Arba settlement in the city of al-Khalil also known as Hebron.
- Militants from the Kurdistan Workers’ party, PKK have killed six soldiers in Turkey’s southeast. The soldiers died in a gun attack and a bomb blast. Hundreds of Turkish forces have died in attacks by the PKK since their truce collapsed last year. Turkey has also stepped up its attacks against the militants.
- The Russian president says no obstacles remain to prevent Iran from entering the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the SCO. Vladimir Putin added that cooperation within the organization is a priority under Russia's foreign policy. The SCO is a regional security and economic cooperation body led by China and Russia.
- Global shares and financial markets sharply fall after Britons voted to leave the European Union. The pound plunged as much as ten percent against the dollar to touch levels last seen in 1985. Meanwhile, other European shares and Tokyo’s benchmark stock index fell while oil dropped in Asian markets as well.
- Scotland's first minister says a second independence referendum is highly likely after the UK voted to leave the European Union. Nicola Sturgeon added that it's democratically unacceptable that Scotland faces the prospect of being taken out of the bloc against its will.
- A group of 200 Buddhist extremists have destroyed a mosque in central Myanmar. There were no serious injuries, but dozens of Muslims, including children, had to seek shelter in a nearby police station. Religious intolerance has claimed a large number of Muslim lives in Myanmar over the past few years.
- Forces loyal to Libya’s unity government have launched a major offensive to purge the strategic city of Benghazi from Daesh terrorists. Military sources say at least 18 pro-government troops have been killed during the fighting. Daesh has been increasing its presence in Libya since 2014.
